Where do you go if you want to meet colleagues, enjoy early winter weather, look at expensive guitars in a museum and eat good food? Umeå of course! This years SHF conference, organized by the “society of marine sciences” offered even more.
A couple of Eemis representatives made their way up north and participated in discussions about climate change research, fish migration and marine bacterial communities. We presented one poster, 6 oral presentations, including 3 student presentations and we won the best three student presentations! Here are some pictures!!
On the way back from Umeå I stopped in Stockholm to visit the SciLife lab where “the magic” of our sequencing-projects happens. I try to improve my bioinfo and programming skills, dis-entangling bacterial genome data with skilled colleagues. Now it is time to go back to Kalmar where weather hopefully allows for a planned sampling in Kårehamn next week.
Have a nice weekend everyone
